This page covers everything about being part of Ziegelbusch CC, including membership, our academy for the next generation, and the home ground we play and train on.

Ziegelbusch CC welcomes players of all skill levels, ages and backgrounds, whether you’re a seasoned cricketer or picking up a bat for the first time.

Who Can Join

We field Men’s, Women’s and Youth squads, and there’s a place for you whatever your experience. New players are always welcome to come along and try a session before committing to anything.

How to Join

  1. Come along to a training session, and see our Training Calendar for times and location.
  2. Email us at cricket.tg1875@gmail.com to let us know you’re interested, and which squad (Men, Women or Youth) you’d like to join.
  3. We’ll help you complete membership registration with TG 1875 Darmstadt e.V., our parent club.

Membership Fees

Membership has two parts: general club membership with TG 1875 Darmstadt e.V., and a cricket department fee for playing members.

Category Monthly Fee
Club membership (adults) €18
Club membership (children under 18) €12
Cricket department fee €7

Playing members pay both fees together, so for example an adult playing member pays €25 per month (€18 club membership + €7 cricket department), and a member under 18 pays €19 per month (€12 + €7).

The Ziegelbusch CC Academy exists to bring cricket to the next generation, introducing the game to schools and young players across the Darmstadt region and building a clear pathway into the club.

Grassroots Access

Bring cricket into local schools and the wider community, so young people who’ve never picked up a bat get a first chance to try the game.

A Clear Pathway

Give academy players a structured route from their first session through to representing our Men’s or Women’s senior squads.

Qualified Coaching

Training is led by ICC-certified coaches, so every player, whatever their age or starting point, gets safe, consistent coaching.

Open to Everyone

No prior experience needed. We welcome young players of all backgrounds who want to learn the game.

See the current academy squad and trainers on our Squad page, or explore our home ground under the Facilities tab above.

Ziegelbusch CC trains and plays at a well-equipped home ground in Darmstadt, and here is an honest look at what’s available today, which is useful for members, visiting teams and event organisers alike.

Indoor Hall

★★★★★

Dedicated indoor training hall (Heinz Reinhard Halle) available through the winter season, giving us year-round training capability regardless of weather.

Ground, Changing Rooms & Showers

★★★★★

Reliable, consistent access to our home ground throughout the playing season, with full changing room facilities including showers and toilets on-site for players and match officials.

Practice Nets Under Construction

★☆☆☆☆

Dedicated practice nets are currently under construction, and this is a priority upgrade for the club. We are raising €5,000 to complete the nets and expand our training equipment, and you can read how to help on our Partner With Us page.

State-of-the-Art Training Equipment

★★★☆☆

A bowling machine is on our wishlist to be acquired, and we’re expanding indoor net capacity from 2 to 3 lanes as we work toward state-of-the-art training equipment for the club, all part of the same €5,000 fundraising goal.

Ziegelbusch CC has grown from a handful of founders into a club competing across multiple leagues, and here is how it came to be.

Founding

Ziegelbusch Cricket Club was founded in November 2024 and became part of the sport departments of TG 1875 Darmstadt e.V. It was founded by Manikandan Ravichandran (lead founder) and Manasvi Audichya (support founder). The club has been led, both at the time of founding and today, by club CEO Claudia Rapp and club chairperson Claas Baustian.

On the Pitch

Our Men’s team has competed in the Hessischer Cricket Verband (HCV) league since the 2025 season. Our Women’s team played in partnership with Rüsselsheim Cricket Club in the 2025 season, taking part in the Bundesliga. In 2026, the team became one of the few standalone sides to compete in the Deutscher Cricket Bund (DCB) Regional League.

Growing the Next Generation

The Ziegelbusch CC Academy was founded alongside the club and has been actively training young players ever since, and the club has grown to 40 members across our Men’s, Women’s and Youth squads today, including 6 players under 18.

In the Community

We’ve taken part in city sport festivals and introduced cricket to new audiences, including sessions for school kids at Bessunger Schule in Darmstadt and for Deutsche Bundesbank team members. Our Women’s team was also featured in the local press for helping bring women’s cricket to Darmstadt (“TG 1875 Ziegelbusch: Cricket ist auch Frauensache”, da.news, July 2025).
